IJDES AUTHOR'S GUIDE
Works that is prepared in accordance with the following writing rules can be included in the reviewer evaluation process:
Evaluation process;
1. Manuscripts sent to IJDES are first evaluated by the editorial board in terms of compliance with journal principles. Manuscripts that are not covered by the journal scope or that do not comply with a scientific writing format in terms of content and form are rejected or some changes may be requested without starting the review process. Academic impartiality and scientific quality are the most important criteria in the evaluation of papers submitted for publication.
2. In the evaluation phase, the papers are examined through the similarity scanning and plagiarism detection program (Ithenticate and Turnitin). The similarity index value of the manuscripts should be below 20% (after omitting bibliographies and citations). Papers above this value are rejected without being evaluated.
3. The papers submitted to IJDES in accordance with the publication rules are sent to two reviewers who are known for their work in the relevant field for evaluation. IJDES uses the “double-blind” arbitration system, where the names of the reviewers and authors are kept confidential at every stage of the process.
Possible Reviewer Feedback and Process;
a) If one of the reviewer reports states that the paper cannot be published and the other one is "publishable", the editor sends the paper to a third reviewer and notifies the corresponding author(s) of this result via e-mail or journal platform.
b) When one of the reviewers' reports states that the paper needs "editing" and the other states that the paper cannot be "published", the editor evaluates the paper once again. After this evaluation, the editor either rejects the study or sends it to a third reviewer and notifies the corresponding author(s) of this result via e-mail or journal platform.
c) If at least one of the reviewer reports indicates that the manuscript needs to be "corrected", the manuscript will be sent back to the author via e-mail and the journal platform, along with both reviewer reports. After this point, the author must complete the editing on the paper within 30 days and upload the edited paper to the journal platform. After the author makes the change, s/he uploads the paper back to the system. The uploaded paper is reviewed by the reviewers again and an evaluation report is prepared.
d) If the work has been corrected by the editor; The author uploads the edited paper to the system again, the reviewers review the paper and explain their opinions within 4 weeks.to. If both reviewer reports state that the paper cannot be published, the author is informed of this result via e-mail and the journal platform, and the paper is removed from the evaluation process.
e) If the reports from both reviewers indicate that the paper can be "published", the author is informed of this result via an email and journal platform and the paper is taken to the publication stage.
f) Reviewers upload the review reports of the papers to the system within a period of 4 weeks.f
4. In the studies submitted to IJDES, the authors take into account the criticisms and suggestions of the reviewers and Editorial Board. If there are issues that they do not agree with, they have the right to object together with their reasons.
5. IJDES's reviewer evaluation process can sometimes take a long time due to undesirable reasons. Under normal circumstances, the preliminary evaluation phase by the editor is 1 week; The reviewer evaluation process is also planned as 2 months. However, due to the lack of timely return from the reviewers, re-appointment etc. For these reasons, the reviewer evaluation process may take longer. It takes an average of 4-6 months for a study to be uploaded to the system and published.
6. The author/authors who submit a paper to IJDES are deemed to have accepted the reviewer evaluation conditions and process of the journal.
7. The copyright of the works decided (accepted) to be published in IJDES is deemed to have been transferred to Düzce University.
